A new year

2011,  Cherish every moment
I started the new year a little off kilter.  Been sick this week with a nasty cold and felt like crap.  It has made me feel bad and my blood sugar  has been high which makes me kinda of ill tempered. Who me?  Steve says I get mean as a junk yard dog!!!  LOL  It does make you cranky.  Any of you diabetic?
I did NOT go to church this morning.  I did not want to spread my cheer to everyone. Steve started this junk and then gave it to me.  So we both have drug around and just shared the misery. This is our second cold of the year so something is going around big time.
When I miss church the rest of the week seems so long and I really enjoy going.
I, along with a lot of people, want to live more healthy. I know I don't take care of my self.  Along with the diabetes I have high blood pressure and high cholestrol.  Most of my energy is given to Steve.  I try to protect him from colds and germs and so far this winter I haven't been able to.
I am grateful for the new year. Blessed is a better word. We know from this site it could be so much worse.  So we will continue the fight with everything we have in us,  cherish every moment and live life as fast as we can.
I pray for all of the people on this site. I consider you as part of our extended family.  Sincerely,  Wanda

Wanda,
May I encourage you to take better care of yourself. It is wonderful that you are a loving, supportive caregiver to Steve. But, if you aren\'t healthy, you won\'t be much help to him or yourself!!! I hope you will be able to get some rest and fight off this cold...

Wishing you God\'s blessings in 2011.
Hugs, Linda

Wanda,
We should all try to take better care of ourselves starting now. Last year I rarely ate anything that was good for me......it has to come right out of a package or can or I just didn\'t bother. I am going to try harder this year to be more mindful of what I am eating. Get some rest my friend and I hope the cold goes away soon. In my family it seems like we just pass a cold around a couple of times among all of us until it wears out.

Keep fighting the good fight and feel better soon.
Hugs, Dianne

Hi Hon,

So sorry that you and Steve are both ailing. That\'s not fun! Please do see the doc tomorrow. You may very well need an antibiotic.

I know exactly what you mean about missing church. I\'ve been away since I broke my leg. Thankfully, there is a wonderful service on tv. I have been enjoying the sermons and the music.

Take care of yourself, Wanda. Thank God that we\'re all entering another new year! What a blessing.

Hey Wanda
You are wearing yourself out. Do take better care of yourself and make that resolution to be kind to Wanda first. I am tired too, and when we get tired and run down, as my mother used to say - our resistance to these germs is low. So may 2011 be a healthy new year for you and all the rest of us too.
Amen to that.

Hi Wanda, Hope you can get over this cold quickly! I was just talking with a friend who was touting Zicam when you get a cold. She said it shortens the duration of a cold - recommended by Dr. Oz. I know the struggle of taking care of yourself when you\'ve got someone else to care for. Do the best you can, make the most healthful decisions you can, and don\'t be too hard on yourself.

Too bad you missed church, that\'s no fun.

Dear Wanda... This awful feeling you have from being sick will pass...just don\'t let it derail you completely. I pray that you will feel good as new soon. Please take care. Love, Linda

Hi Wanda, sorry to hear you\'ve been sick - \"mean as a junkyard dog\" - love that description. Hope you\'re both feeling a bit better soon. Wishing you both also - good health and happiness for 2011. Cheers Miranda.
