A New Me.....
Well, almost! I went today and got the report that all is great with the "new eye" (what I call the one having had cataract surgery, astigmatism issue plus a new multifocal lens implant) From the time I came home it was so much better. Now it is so amazing to see. With this eye I can see great far away as well as close. My only issue has been a bit rough with the good eye when typing or reading on the laptop. Today when out I bought a pair of cheap readers for after the other eye. Hoping that is all I need.
For now, I use my old glasses (with fake lense on good eye) That serves good enough for me to easily see and read. I have been keeping a bit quiet on here. (Hard to imagine me eh??? lol) and trying to stay out of trouble... also hard to imagine. When I do venture out, I am more assured and not afraid of falling each time. I am my old open bubbly chatty self wherever I go and have no problems striking up a conversation with anyone... man or woman. Look out here I come! hahaha (Ps Have been checking the men out especially those seeming nice and chatty too. wink, wink)
It is amazing as I feel this transformation coming over me. Being able to see... being more assured and not so worried every time I venture out . I have honestly not done alot these last two weeks as far as exercise. Initially was told to take it easy and before that fought with that fever and whatever it was... but as the days go on I get more ambitious and have been doing some old pt and stretching. I think I want to venture out and walk a bit when we have more good weather. ( The gym I joined did put a freeze on my membership so come December I am headed back to them and their equipment.) I still have the bike too. What I have been doing is watching what I am eating. Now sticking with light breakfast and lunch a healthy snack and dinner. Sometimes do treat myself with a yogurt or some nuts for dessert. JUst doing that have lost 15 lbs so far. With all this change for the better. I have to say the newfound hope and confidence is something we need to bottle. Hahaha. (Ordinarily I would say remind me of this when I do fall off the wagon or start to waiver... but I have decided not to look for that day... rather I will continue to hang on and do what I need to.)
Just wanted to check in and thank all for well wishes. I am also bursting and just felt I needed to share GOOD news. My thoughts and prayers are still with you all (especially those in a bad spot or struggling.)I know all too well of the pain and emptiness of the bad stuff... but I continue to have faith that all does happen for a reason and eventually we may discover why... or at the very least be comforted and encouraged by many warm caring souls here.
Hugs, Kim
