A new friend? MAAYBE!

(note - using initials because I'm terrible with names and KNOW I'll get it wrong)

Well, today G. and I went hiking up Crow Peak... with a new friend.   I only caught the tail end of a discussion because the hike was difficult and my dogs were struggling, but it sounded like G. said J. was in the middle of a nasty divorce, told J. that mine was nasty too - I had to correct her - the divorce was easy, the marriage was HELL.   J. is a very private person.   She didn't say much, didn't ask questions, didn't offer anything personal about herself either other than where she worked and that was only because we ran into someone she knew on the trail.   And for me, this was odd, lol, I'm used to people who like to blab (me included).   But there was something different about today... I wasn't in the mood to blab, certainly didn't want to talk about myself (much anyways, lol) and it was a great hike - Again, gorgeous Fall colors, evidence of a fire that happened there this past summer, perfect temperatures.   And my dogs almost walked off the cliff at the top (luckily they came running back when I called).  And despite the silence, it was clear she enjoyed herself, and she did ask about the hiking group G and I do, and we invited her along on future ones.

I'm so impatient.  Whenever it's time for me to be alone, I am... whenever it's time for me to find new friends, God provides.  Yesterday, when I wrote I was feeling lonely, I figured it was because God wanted me to figure out myself just a little bit more, dig down just a little bit deeper into my psyche and defeat the rest of those inner childhood issues that could rise up and ruin future relationships - and then G and J arrived at my door today and it looks like we'll be hiking again at the end of the month.   God is great!
