A new form of funny

I saw someone on the brink of tears as she watched her crush walk off with another girl...his girlfriend. Even I noticed they made a cute couple. Then right as a couple tears rolled down her face she started laughing. She was laughing so hard she was out of breath. I was a little concerned after seeing this and then I asked her what was so funny. She replied "I just realized I was thinking that it would have been me if I made a move and how maybe he will date me. Then it hit me THAT WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN ME ANYWAYS!" then she burst out laughing again. I thought it over and I noticed the cruel irony she was talking about. If they were in the same room and didn't know if they would live or die they would all admit everything and in that situation she would have to die knowing the boy she loved would never love her back. It is so sad but somehow she turned that irony into a twisted joke. She somehow made an entire situation up so she could laugh about her pain. Maybe we need to think more like her and find A NEW FORM OF FUNNY.
