A New Bipolar Drug - Latuda
Latuda has recently been approved for treating Bipolar depression. That is great news since it is not advisable for they current antidepressants on the market to be given to anyone with bipolar. If they are then one has to take one or two mood stabilizers so they don't flip another mood swing or rapid cycling.
Well, my Pdoc stays abreast of everything and finally feels it is safe for me to try. I started on March 5, 2014. After 3 weeks my depression started to lift and there have been NO side effects--hallelujah! I've now been in a normal range for a month. I'm not sure if it's the Latuda or just a typical mood swing back to normal. But whatever it is I'm enjoying it and hope it will finally stay this way forever.
