A Mixed Bag

Hhmm, I almost don't know where I'm going with this so let's hope I make sense at least.
Health wise I'm getting alot more balanced.  But, you know, it is a thorn in my side that I have to admit it's because of the right mix of meds.  Darn it all I want to do this via lifestyle but that's just not the way it is.  I do so pray that I can work towards this goal as time progresses.  I do feel that my lightheadedness is tied in with the methotrexate dose as I experience these spells off & on for the first three days after my injection but they are no where near as bad as they were a couple of months back.
Hubby has not been having quite as many mood swings for a bit now.  I think it helps that when we put those cards on the table after a not so good episode & hence it's made him aware of the root of it all it's not the evil monkey on our back any more.
His daughter is unexpectedly going to be here for maybe 5 days I think.  Her hubby(Brian) has been here for a bit now because his brother has been terminally ill.  He passed away so hubby's daughter(Bev) is flying in & staying with us.  I know it seems strange that Bev & Brian are staying in separate places but I believe it's because there's just not enough space for all the family.  OK call me weird I guess but I know with Mel & I that we would definitely opt for a quiet hotel room together for the days.  Some sense of stability & peace & quiet.  But alas, I'm having a house guest.  I'm better with her at this point in time but it still, darn it all, just disrupts my space & my life.  It really throws me off center somehow.  But at least I've graduated to not being totally paranoid abt entertaining her all the time & paranoid abt meals & food planning.  I've worked on embracing that I'll do my best & so be it.
Income tax - I can't believe what the government is up to with us.  They, for the second time since January, want more money from hubby/us.  They now sent us another bill for another $400.  So now in total they will have collected over $5,000 from us.  The funniest thing is the last documentation they sent us abt a wk ago stated something abt copies of stuff that we did not supply to them, yet, HELLO! the copies of said paperwork that we sent was stapled to the letter/bill they've sent back to us.  I'm really wondering if there was some clerk that not much to do so it was some kind of a make work project.  So poor hubby was really stressed abt this BIG TIME & he really does not need this type of burden.  I've worked on smoothing over the ruffled feelings as best I can.  We're going to see our tax lady Monday to see if she can understand what they heck they're trying to do.
I'm starting to get curious abt the whole Holter Monitor thing on Wednesday.  It will be what it will be when all is said & done.
Our birds & squirrels are a constant source of entertainment here.  The first couple hrs in the morning I've got up to 6 squirrels that come to our diner for the all you can eat breakfast buffet & it's hilarious because sharing is something they do not embrace & at times they are actually bouncing off the patio door when they startle each other.  One, when he gets angry, does this little foot stomping thing, really funny to watch.  What gets really neat to watch is when Mr. & Mrs. Blue Jay brings the kids around for peanuts & they sit on the roof of the garage & wait for moments in between the squirrels when they can land & get their share.  It's neat having one door that has a reflective panel on it.  It enables us to sit in the sun room & see them close up but they can't really see us.  I've got one squirrel that will stand on his hind legs & beg & if he gets no response he'll lean his front feet on the door.  Our Lords little creatures have been such entertainment for us.
Anywho I guess that's abt it for today.
I hope this moment in time finds all my friends blessed with love & happiness in their heart & soul.

Hi my friend.
I totally understand the guest stress. Even the best guests are ... taxing on people like us. One thing I have learned from being a guest (and learning what I didn\'t like) was how unpleasant it was to have the host hover over entertaining me all the time. So, maybe giving her some alone time will suit her too. I hope it goes well for you.
I would shrug off the halter monitor as a paperwork type of thing and not let it stress you OK? I think most docs just do it to cover their butt. : )

I\'m glad you are finding enjoyment in the wonderful \"free\" things in life. Those are the best. Right now we have a robin and a chipmunk who duke it out each afternoon in a huge squabble. Looks like they are working it out on their own OK though. haha.

I completely understand your feelings about the meds too. I\'ve been in exactly the same place a few times. Sometimes acceptance is a positive thing to do (instead of seeing it as a failure, seeing it as a blessing to have the meds). I know it is a gray area and a hard to define, and can change depending upon the circumstances, but at times, acceptance is a healthy thing, if that makes sense. I hope you and hubby continue to manage things better and feel better. I hope your season of healing is upon you. xoxo and God bless.

Have no idea why I was surprised that you have tax issues in Canada? I thought that was just a USA issue.
I am so happy for you that your health is balancing out, even if it needs the assistance of meds, that is a wonderful thing.
I love your critter watching stories. I love watching my local wildlife too. I have a drop dead gorgeous male hummingbird that comes in every afternoon, almost on the dot, at 4pm. I wonder if he has a route laid out and I\'m his late afternoon stop.
I\'m with you on the hotel thing, other than my daughters home I prefer to stay in a hotel while visiting family.
Love to you always dear
