A Magical Brew

Legend hath it that Cerridwen had two children. Creiwy was the most beautiful girl in all the world. Afagddu, her son, was the ugliest boy. They lived on an island in the middle of Lake Tegid. To compensate for Afagdddu’s ugliness, Cerridwen decided to make him highly intelligent. So according to a recipe contained in the books of Vergil of Toledo the magician (hero of a twelfth century romance), she boiled up a cauldron of inspiration and knowledge, which had to be kept on the simmer for a year and a day. Season by season she added to the brew magical herbs gathered in their correct planetary hours.  When finally Gwion thrust into his mouth some drops of the mead he at once understood the nature and meaning of all things past, present and future. The 19th of January is the anniversary of my husband, Darryl’s death. He lost a fierce battle with cancer and I am still to deal with the present. In honour of his memory I am asking those, who want to help in some way, to stop and think of us and add some magical herbs and other ingredients to this cauldron to help concoct the brew, which upon taking, will help me know joy without guilt, nourish memories without pain and move forward, full of hope, towards the future.   Remembering Darryl January 17th 2010 love you today and always Darryl Heather

Adding a special selection of millennial-old previously-aged herbs known for imbuing the drinker with special wisdom, love, understanding, joy, appreciation... with no side-effects of guilt, loneliness, shame, or depression. Take thrice daily for 2 days after the ingredients from other compassionate friends have been added... and believe in the results that will come with this and a prayer (one being sent by the way).

Into the vat: Hair clippings from puppies, kittens and small children. Toss in some sand from an exotic beach and throw in some palm fronds for good measure, catch a sun beam, a moon beam and immerse it in mixture. Stir and simmer. Drink deeply.

Loved your ingredients! I\'ll add an elixir of time to the mixture since the old cliche that grief eases with time has been true for me.

Cindy and I have camped on an island in the middle of lake Ouachita and watched the eagles fly by. I want to add eagle feathers to the cauldron representing freedom from grief.

I\'ll collect the sounds waves running around in space playing all the karaoke songs david loved to sing which brought a smile to my face and usually a great deal of laughter as he was so silly while singing them:)

Adding a bit of peace, hope and contentment and the knowledge that my thoughts will be with you both on the 19th. May you cherish the memories, manage the sadness and take some comfort from the many happy times that you had together. I\'m sure such a brew can help us all banish the fear and the guilt and give us hope and optimism for the future.

I\'ll add some clover, because I like it and want to give you some for the brew. Luv, Sue
