A look at the calendar...

A look at the calendar this morning reminded me of where I am supposed to be...I think.   If it weren't for this Hep C diagnosis my wife and I would be just about done with three months of training before moving to Senegal, West Africa as full-time missionaries.  We were so sure that was the plan for us.  It took nearly a year to complete the interview/application process, we had told our families and then our church that we were leaving...and then...Hep C. We took a trip to Mbour, Senegal in January before I started treatment.  I needed to get some administrative things in order.  We have a house in Mbour, "Keru Naan", or "House of Prayer" in english.  People from around the community come to our house for prayer when they are ill, or when fishermen have not returned from trips or any other problem.  I have seen miracles happen there with my own eyes.   I have a huge burden for the people there.  The name I use on this site, Moussa, is my name in Senegal.  It's Moses.  I was given that name on my first trip to Senegal in Nov '06.  Since that first trip we have been part of some amazing happenings.   That's what the calendar reminded me of this morning.  As I thought about all this, I realized that I was actually trying to tell God He had made a mistake.  I wasn't supposed to be here with Hep C, but there in Senegal serving among the Lebou fishermen.  My spirit would not allow me to leave it at that.  So I prayed.   It became clear to me in prayer that I am exactly where I am supposed to be, and thankfully not where I deserve to be.  My plan was good, His plan is perfect.  He didn't give me Hep C, I did that all on my own, but He is using this to draw me closer, teach me more and better prepare me for whatever lies ahead...either here or in Senegal.   Tomorrow, when I look at the calendar, I simply going to say, "This is the day the Lord has made, Let's rejoice and be glad in it." God bless,Rob

It\'s so hard to realize sometimes that God works in \"mysterious ways\". But as you have, I have seen his work in the most unusual situations. Maybe there are people on this site ( or people in your area) that need you even more than those very deserving folks in Senegal.

There was a discussion in a post about whether to keep quite about Hep C or not. Lately , I have felt God telling me I need to share my story/experiences with others. I was reluctant to do so at first, but since I have began to do as I feel he has asked me to, I have noticed so many blessings. And I truly believe I have helped folks with this disease ( even if it was just helping someone discover they have this disease). And I hope that I have got someone to realize just who/what God is, that he is the only one/way, and how his word is the truth and can truly save our lives!

Thanks for the entry Rob! I know it did me good to read it!
