A Long Time In Coming

Hello dear friends. I have not dropped in too often, but things are well.

I have been in my new apt about 6 weeks now and quite content.As in the real world, I have my good and bad days.

I'm working just 3 days and going for disability. Have actually had just a few very bad days either with pain or an overwhelming pile up of bad luck, but I keep plugging.

I could still use some strength and prayers as my house has still not officially had its closing. The bank, the company that manufactured it (in 2005) and PennDOT all claim they do not have or cannot produce a duplicate title. I have had to involve my state representative to pursue it further.

So right now, I am paying a hefty rent for my new place and having to still pay the last few mortgage pymts while trying not to delve into money I've rolled over (as that will be added income for the year which could affect the disability status)

My fear is that after almost 20 yrs of paying well over 100K that they will leave me with nothing to show for it. Is typical that I do generally lose all I have .   :(

Hi Kim,,,,,give it time....SSA allows income while on disability

Yes SSA does allow income from work. When one-half of your benefits, plus all other income, exceeds $25,000, you will need to file taxes on it.

Try to be positive. Although bad things happen in life, things tend to turn around, sometime slowly or sometimes quickly, if we mantain a positive outlook toward the future.

The one thing I have learned and used to my advantage is that all thought results in form at some point so picture yourself opening yur pocketbook and finding oodles and oodles of money and see what happens! You will be surprised!

~~~Peace~~~
Hello Kim. Always good to hear from you.
The house was to be sold quickly and I even made a rather swift move the end of April so the house would be ready for the family by initial closing (planned for May 3rd ) as their current lease was up where they were. Unfortunately, it has been a nightmare as all of a sudden I am finding out the ball was dropped almost 20 yrs ago when we initially bought the house. Noone seems to have the title or will consent to making a duplicate one as there are different names as initial company went out of business.
Our realtors have done up a legal agreement to allow them to finally live there until the closing is finalized. But I currently have a state representative and his team, my realtor has a trailer queen who has dealt with all sorts of issues in many states (including PA) and we are praying every day they may finally get people to cooperate. I cannot officially sell the house (or receive any money) until we have a title.
will they be renting the place while it is not paid for by mortgage yet? I would want that....but maybe you cannot get the money from them for that....I would think you did.....
