A little vacation

Hi everyone ,This weekend we had planned to be in Carlsbad,New Mexico to visit some old friends that we had made when we first got married.Well things were going good and we had stopped in Roswell,N.M. to shop at the local craft store that Breny wanted to check out.And we went to the UFO museum so that we could finally say we had been there.Was not what I thought it should have been(just a little disapointed).I did go to another place and get me a "UFO" t-shirt and a coffee cup.The t-shirt is one that has Marvin the Martian on it saying "So it crashed,Get over it".Then we went on to Carlsbad and then the fun started,first the Hotel that we picked over the internet didn`t look like it did on the computer(it was an old Holiday Inn changed over to some other name and the room was not furnished like it was supposed to be ,with a fridge and microwave.They did bring us those things but then the remote on the T.V. didn`t work and they had not cleaned the room in I don`t know how long,there was dust on most of the furnature.Then after I took a bath I had to dry off with a towel that had a great big hole in it(it should have been used to clean the funature).We drove around looking at the places that we had lived at there,We thought the first 2 places would have been torn down by now but they were still there.We even went driving around looking for our friends places and found them but it was getting late and we hadn`t called them yet to let them know that we were there.We thought we would be seeing them on Saturday so we just went back to the room for a while and then we went to Chili`s for dinner.The food was great and then we went driving around some more to see what had changed in the twenty seven years since we had been there.A lot had changed but we could at least find our way around.We even drove around the Pecos River walk that runs through town,I had forgotten how nice it makes the town look.It is one of the many things that make the city of Carlsbad so apealing to a lot of people.It is a whole different type of city than Clovis is.I don`t know but if Brendy eveer retires I would like to think about moving back there(or if we ever win the lottery...lol...).Any how back to the story,we had started to go back to the hotel when my phone rang and it was my friend that was supposed to take care of our kitty cat and he could not get into the house with the key that I gave him.So after looking att my key ring I saw that I had given him the wrong key,he got the key that opens my Mom and Dad`s and my brother`s houses.Boy did I feel like a dummy!!! We had planned this for 2 months and I go and ruin it.Now we had to get up the next day and call my friend that lives there and tell hime that we had to cut things short and go home before seeing him and his family.It was a bummer.I guess it turned out ok because we have been needing new glasses and we did get back in time to go to the eye care place and order them.So there was a reason that this happened and we did have a good small vacation from everything here even if it was the shortest vacation in history.More later.
