A Little Update

My Dear DS Sister,  It has been way too long since I gave you an update.  I don’t even know where to start.  As many of you know I have been working at Kohl’s since the middle of Dec.  I was hired as “Holiday Help”, but I am still there.  The hours have been cut way down.  The hours that I do work have been crummy.  Late nights till like ten or eleven.  I really can’t handle that since I am such a morning person.  I can’t expect them to make exceptions for me.  It would not be fair to everyone else.  Before I got the job at Kohl’s I had interviewed with the Tennis pro at a country club in The Woodlands.  It was supposed to be 8-12 mornings, Mon-Fri.  Would have been perfect for me.  He told me the job would not start till the end of Jan.  He said I would be perfect for the job.  Since it wasn’t going to start till the end of Jan.  I decided to work at Kohl’s till then.  I kept in constant touch with him.  He kept putting me off till he finally told me that one of his workers was out sick and he wasn’t sure she was coming back.  Well guess what.  She came back.  So he really was jumping the gun by putting an ad out there and interviewing.  Just my luck.  So I am looking again.  I like Kohl’s, but not the hours.  Plus it really isn’t enough money.  Something I have looked into doing is being an Independent Closing agent.  Title closing.  You work for several title companies doing remote closings, like on refinancing and such.  You go to there houses or meet them at a Starbucks or something.  When I refinanced my house I met the closing agent at a Starbucks to sign the papers.  You get anywhere from $90 to $150 per closing.  The more title companies you work with the more closings you get and the more money you make.  You have to become a Notary.  Just thinking about it right now.    Well Christmas was nice.  We were all at my son and daughter in law’s.  Of course seeing Christmas through the eyes of children is wonderful.  Didn’t do anything special for New Years.  I had to work till 6 on New Years eve and was dead tired.  Went to be before Midnight.  Then had to work New Years Day.  I hope you all saw the pictures of the kids and the rest of my family.    A couple of weeks before Christmas, Frank, (my life partner) went in for surgery on his corroded artery.  It was clogged with plaque.  So I guess they did a roto rooter thing.  He was just in the hospital for two days I think.  Did very well after that.  Then about two weeks after New Years, he went in to get two stents put in his heart.  They do this by going in through the groin.  That was just an overnight thing.  He is doing very well on that also.  Next he has to get a stent in his leg.  Whewww.    We had a very cold Dec.  Went down in the 20’s and even the teens for a little while.  It has been very nice though now.  60’s and 70’s and sunny, but that is about to changes.  A rain storm coming tomorrow with colder weather behind it.  Here in Texas people say, “If you don’t like the weather, just wait a minute”.  We all have been worried and have missed Julie.  As it turns out I chatted with her a few times on the chat thing.  I hope she doesn’t mind my telling you all this, but she is having another surgery on Feb 1st.  She didn’t go into detail, but something to do with her intestines.  She said she had a very nice Christmas and Nick’s was magical.  Nick is doing great.  She said she misses journaling, but she said the words just won’t come.  Julie if you read this, please know we all love you and miss you.  Love and hugs to all my wonderful DS Sisters,  Anita.
