a little info abt. me.
I lost my husband to cancer on March 31, 2015. He fought a good battle for nearly 5 years and I am proud of him for his grit and determination. He endured many a day of pain. Now I still feel the loss and am dealing with making my own decisions and am so grateful that I have three sons who live close, one who lives with me while finishing collage. I don't know what i would do without them to lean on. This August the 16th my husband and I would have been married 45 years. He passed away at home, peacefully, which was what he wanted. I also honored his wish to be creamated and his remains placed on one of the book cases next to the fireplace. It is rather a comfort to know that I did all that he asked of me.

Thanks for sharing information about your family and know that this is a good place to receive understanding and compassion during this hard time in your life. It\'s good that your sons are close, and that you were able to do what your husband requested. Those first months after losing a spouse are so very painful and full of \"foggy\" times when it\'s hard to accomplish ordinary things. My husband died of leukemia almost 7 yrs. ago; we were married 50 yrs. Everyone\'s \"grief journey\" is unique - and you will find that people who are not widowed can\'t really comprehend how we feel.
Wishing you comfort and peace - Doye (rhymes with joy)
I also thank you for this beautiful journal. Ben, my husband also suffered so much with cancer and it\'s treatment. Isn\'t it such a peace we have, in our hearts, just knowing we did everything humanly possible, for our beloved husbands? I am thankful, I have wonderful children and grandchildren, who are there for me and more importantly, I am there for them.
Lots of love........Sandra
