A little history lesson
Okay, so four years ago, I had a mental breakdown after battling with untreated depression for several years. The hospital doctor diagnosed me with Bipolar Disorder and started me on Welbutrin and Risperdal. I was on the meds for several months, and noticed my bras were wet when I took them off in the evening. I went to my pcp to find out what was going on. The blood work revealed my hormone levels were too high, and they surmised the Risperdal was to blame. I was switched from Risperdal to Abilify. I was on Abilify and Welbutrin for two years, working prefectly, functioning like a normal person. Then one night, I wake in the middle of the night agitated and restless. I hadn't put away the clean laundry the night before, and it was bothering me. So I put the laundry away. I lay back down, and this man's voice tells me that my kithcen is infested with ants, and I need to mop. I cleaned the entire apartment that night, one task after another, and could not go back to sleep. The next day at work, I'm on the phone, and I hear his voice again, telling me to hang up and go home, it's on fire. The voice keeps repeating it's burning, the house is on fire. I panic and flip out at work. I made an emergency appointment with my doctor and we switched me back to the Risperdal for stabilization. I lost that job, and haven't found one since. My mania has been barely managed over the last year, adding Depakote for three months about six months ago. I started lactating again, and stopped taking all my meds at that time. When I went back to the doctor two months ago, we switched the Depakote to Lithium. I was non-compliant for two weeks, only taking my Welbutrin. I had a temper tantrum in the grocery store and hit the man in front of me in line. I'm currently on probation for assault. The doctor took me off the Risperdal since I wasn't taking it. My current meds are Welbutrin, Trilafon and Lithium, although I hate the Lithium, it makes me sleep too much.
