a little fearful

hello,
I am scheduled to have gbs june 14 and I am fast becoming more apprehensive as the date approaches.  I have read so much on the internet regarding complications and such.  Can anyone give me a break down as far as the healing process and how much pain to expect after surgery.  Please I could use a non medical person to help me know what to expect, like after surgery when can I expect pain relief and return to work etc.
