A Little Chat With God
God, I'm still here. Each morning a new day begins that will become part of the rest of my life. Sometimes it begins very ordinary, sometimes it's full of excitement and optimism, sometimes it seems incredibly discouraging. When my eyes open to meet the day, I have no idea where my emotions will take me, but I am determined to make the day worthwhile. Will the unknown ever become a natural expectation? Only You know around the corners of my life. Please bestow wisdom upon this mortal being. There are so many occasions when I'm at a loss for discernment, and I plead for Your guidance and strength. I trust that You have only good in mind for me, as I am your child. You paid a great price for me, and I am eternally grateful for the precious gift of being called Your child. I am ashamed to say that I lose heart on occasion. The loneliness is overwhelming at times, and I cry out to You. I am so very sorry that I am not stronger on this journey called widowhood, but I know in my heart that You understand and walk gently by my side as I strive to move forward. Lord, You have brought so much happiness into my life. I had a husband who was more than I could have ever imagined for a mate: so kind, thoughtful, and tender. We have children and grandchildren who have broadened my life and brought so much pleasure. You thought me worthy to experience such contentment. Why? I will never know, but I will be forever thankful for Your benevolence. Help me, Lord, to find my way out of the haze that threatens to overshadow the magnificent years you have allowed to be part of my life. I laugh, I smile, I remember. Thank you, thank you. TJ

What a beautiful journal. Thank you for sharing.
What a wonderful journal entry! These are the things we need to stay focused on in order to get through each day.. God Bless. Denise
Thank you, madre1 and Denise, for your kind comments. I have been given so much in this life, and feel unworthy to have had such happiness when there are some who can only dream of the type of devotion we shared. Sometimes on the long and lonely nights, I begin to have a pity party, though. Sad but true, then I pick myself up, brush myself off, and plow forward. TJ
A healing entry TJ. Thank you for sharing your daily struggle. It helps you and all those who read your words.
I too indulge in the pity parties. That was what my last journal was about. Every morning when I open my eyes I remind myself that I dwell in the shadow of His wings. God does care about our tears and our pain. He does understand so when I cry out that I am alone He gently reminds me that He is with me. I have decided that instead of looking at all the negative, I need to focus on all the blessings. It is my prayer that I can come through all of this more wise compassionate and humble instead of a bitter, ungrateful and angry.
What a tribute to your husband and what faith in our loving God. You bless me with your wisdom and comments to others as well. Thank you for this written heartfelt prayer and praise. Blessings - Janet
Your prayer must please the Lord. It is honest and filled with gratitude and faith.

I felt the need to take a walk and spend sometime with God. Went down to the lake sat on a memorial bench and spoke to God using your prayer of praise and gradatude. Thank you BB Dave
Wow - that could have been me writing that!
