A little bump on the road...

Well I don't know exactly what happened, but all of a sudden I was having trouble coping mentally with everything. I'm not taking any anti-depressants because they made a mess of me last time.  I'm also a pretty optimistic person and not very susceptible to depression. But it's a risk to go without them...  life is full of risks.Anyways, you guys are great and I love you.  I got so many nice notes from people on the board who notice when you slide off the radar and care that things go well. I promise not to melt down again. (fingers crossed)It's still a beautiful time of year!  I've been up north both of the last 2 weekends. The colours are great and the air is so fresh.  Not sure if I mentioned it before, but we've got this cabin way up north that I own with my brothers. It's mostly just for hunting, hiking, snowmobiling, ATV'ing and doing the good stuff.  Anyways, we went up there and built a deck on the front of the cabin.  HaHa! Honestly, it's like rennovating Uncle Jed's cabin in Hooterville.  Now we got this crappy old cabin with a deck that would do the Bellagio proud. Be good out there gang... and let's get well together!   Jack

Well, you must post photos of this luxury deck! Sounds like a good one to sit and enjoy nature.

You sound better Jack, I\'m glad. You are so lucky to have a \'getaway\' place.
If the depression acts up again maybe consider a newer anti.

The bad episode you once had with anti\'s does happen, sometime a person have to try several anti\'s to find the right one for you.
But if you are not depressive, then I would recommend effexor.
I had never took anti\'s before in my life, then at week 12 of tx, I became suicide so I had to do something about it, and was given paxil, I was lucky since they worked on me within a few weeks.
Then tried to quit them several times, but always came back to them, but I wasn\'t depress anymore, but still had social anxiety, and that\'s when my Doctor gave me some effexor, they are mild, and just right for my particular situation.
But the way you say it,\"having trouble with mentally coping\", you are probably having a bad case of brainfog.
It\'s a known fact that the interferon creates brainfog, believe it or not they actually use the word \"brainfog\" in their study.
There are a couple of medication given by PCP to the patients who suffers from it, and complain about it to them.
Provigyl, and ritalin can be given to those with an offset mind struck from the interferon, but usually given post treatment.
Something to think about.....
I know I have been finished with tx since almost 6 years, and I find my brainfog is getting worst by the minute since a year or so, but didn\'t mentioned it yet to my Doctor, I just might put it on my list to subject to discuss with him on my next appointment.
Good luck with that !

ps: Your so lucky to have this cabin in the woods. We are active members of 2 provinces snowmobile club, have been for years.
We enjoy every single drop of snow we get and look forward to have lots and lots again this year.
Winter goes by so fast here, with us riding the trails all over Quebec, and some in Ontario, but Quebec have the nicest trails ever.
Enjoy your time away from everything....

Thx everyone! Mack I\'ve never been sledding in Quebec but I hear it\'s crazy. Mostly we go up Haliburton & Barry\'s Bay. Love it! One thing that has helped with the fog a bit is (crazy as it sounds) to stay hungry.
