A joyful heart is good medicine,Thy will be done
Good morning journal, the time is now 8:58am,I have been fully awake since around 8:00am and I am on my first mug of coffee of the day.Yesterday I rested,my body needed time to recharge and recuperate from the efforts of the past week,so,for a change I listened to what my body was telling me instead of trying to be superman all the time.My spirits over the past few days have been in a good place for the most part with only an occasional dip when I grew tired.I am reminded of Proverbs 22,"a joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones";and I have endeavored to maintain a sense of positivity, and, for the most part I have succeeded.I am still suffering from impatience as regarding my treatments,I know the improvements will take time,I have never been a very patient man but I am learning the art of waiting, hard as it is.Today is the last day that I will be able to just rest this week, tomorrow we begin to take care of the things in the "must do" column to enable us to progress in our labors to improve our lives to any great degree.Carol Jolly from the complex mental health team will visit us tomorrow at 10:30am,she will then help me to fill out the paperwork for my claim for PIP,(personal independent living),we can then send the claim pack off right away, hopefully, the people in the disability department will come down favorably towards us this time.Wednesday is a very early start for me,I have to be at my doctors office to get measured for my wheelchair,I had to be persuaded to go down this route by my wife,as she said,at the moment I am not very heavy due to my weight loss and muscle wastage,so I will be easy to push around,(not sure how to take that!),but I kind of get what she means. On Thursday,I have my next scheduled appointment with doctor Butler, then on Friday morning,Carol Jolly will pick us up and take me to my first appointment with the complex mental health doctor,so,another busy and tiring week lies ahead, but,if it results in me being granted disability with the enhanced rate of mobility,I can then swop my wheelchair for a powered scooter which will make trips out even easier,so it will be worth all the effort if we can get a little more quality of life back.My breathing has been surprisingly good this week,I have endeavored to remain calm with no attempt to hurry things and it seems to have worked,I have some mucus when I cough, and there is a bit of a rattle in my chest cavity, but,on the whole,a good week for breathing, thank You Lord.My mind has been largely my own this week, save for a few occasions when Jeremiah stopped by to pass the time of day with me,as with most times,I could feel Ruth and Micah there, but Jeremiah was the conversationalist. The message I am meant to receive is not being revealed yet,but I do get the feeling that it is getting closer,as of this moment I have no idea what it is about, but I just get the feeling that Jeremiah is getting me prepared for something, time will tell.Well journal, there it is,all up to date,so until the next time, let us keep a joyful heart just like in the Proverb,we move on.
