A HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE DREAM.

WARNING... this is DISTURBING.

I dreamt I was living in a city.   The dream began with me walking home from work, passing people on the street, and entering a boarding house.   It was a Victorian house, big, colorful, beautiful.
Inside, I lived with 3 other people.   An old man who was greatly fond of books (I am too, so it was nice to be with him).... a young lady just trying to get started in the world who was studying alot, and a fit guy in his early 40's.   The fit guy seemed happy, enjoyed life, smiled alot.... his favorite past times were running and working out.   I didn't really know them since I'd recently just moved in, but I liked them alot...
They liked star gazing.... they'd go onto the roof where the telescope sat and in the evening look at the stars.   People were coming and going alot to do that with them.   There was a constant, but comforting sound of footsteps on the stairs and laughter of companionship every night.
But one day, something went terribly wrong.  The fit guy was distraught.  Convinced he was doing the right thing, he poured a huge bottle of alcohol all over himself.   I knew what was coming and frantically tried to understand, tried to figure out a way to stop it.... the old guy just sat there with his books, the young lady just kept studying.   And I looked back in horror as he reached over, took a lighter from a buffet stand, opened the lid....
I ran as the screams began...  Screams of my name...  the others still just sat there... but he didn't.   He ran after me, screaming my name over and over.... and I ran toward the door.   He was strong, faster than me, caught up to me just as I reached the handle and was reaching out to grab me.... I know he needed help but I didn't know what to do.....

And I woke up.    I KNOW what this dream means and it disturbs me just as much as the dream does.   The guy represents the person (people) I've been doing "battle" with...  The alcohol is the parts of the bible that represent hate that they keep pouring all over themselves...  the lighter is this same sex marriage thing.   And the horror, fear, helplessness that I felt is the horror, fear, helplessness that I feel as I try to convince these people to stop and truly READ the bible and understand.

If God couldn't convince them, who am I to do it... but I keep hearing the screams....
