A Hectic Month

The past month has been pretty full on. After all the drama it appears that my mother's health issues have been stabalized and she will be going home from rehabilitation later this week. I have found the travelling back and forth to visit three times a week quite onerous and will be glad to get back to my weekly visit.
 
To be honest I would rather Mum had gone to a supported living environment but for now she wants to be at home. She already had quite a few services but these will be increased. I have concerns because although they cleared the esophagus she has to have her food pureed but hopefully she will be fairly closely monitored.
 
Thanks to all of this I have been exhausted and have not maintained much contact here at DS. Hopefully this will change now. I really value this environment and find that the shared knowledge makes such a difference.
 
During my many hours driving I have been listening to Sheila Hancock's 'The Two of Us'. Her account of John Thaw's (her husband of 28 years) death from cancer and her grief is very moving and insightful. I would recommend it. Indeed, I think i will borrow more audio books. My concentration is still not brilliant but I find this a great diversion as I drive.
