A happy weekend
Steve and I left on Friday for the National Mustang Show being held at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC. It was so beautiful there, and cool! We were there to show Steve's p51 b Roush. He was feeling so good, been off the Sutent for a week. He was at his best, talking cars, BRAGGING about it. hehe And he won 1st place. I was so happy for him, it gave me such pride that he had done so well. Over 500 cars and he won 1st place in his class! opps bragging myself
At night we went to a show on the estate featuring the Pink Flaminco's. A group on tour from Vegas. It was wonderful. The girls came into the audiance and picked some of the men to come on stage and of course they picked Steve because I was motioning behind his back to choose him. They took him along with a few other gents to the stage and introduced them. The main singer asked him his name and being from the south we have a small accent(LOL) so she made a big deal about that. Anyway he danced the twist with the stage girls. I laughed so hard, she called him Elvis hips!! At one point they came into the audiance and got some of the couples and pulled us up front. We danced the twist, the pony, the fly and the mashed potato. Such fun, I said to my self, "feet don't fail me now" While we were slow dancing I just huged my Steve and thanked God for that moment. For a few seconds I thought of all of you. I treasured that moment and just realized how lucky I am to still have him and he is doing so well. I almost cried from the thought!
I don't understand how I am blessed and others are not. But for as long as I can I will cherish every moment I have, and live our lives as hard and fast as we can. But I will NEVER forget the ones who are saying goodbye to their loved ones. The pain and suffering on this site. A time to live and a time to die says the Bible, for now we will LIVE our lives with thankfullness and prayers for all of you.
Love to you all, Wanda

Dear Wanda,
How wonderful that y\'all were able to get away. CONGRATULATIONS to Steve on winning 1st place. That had to be very exciting for you both. Sure wish I had been there to see y\'all doing all those old dances. What good memories they bring back to me.
Wanda, I sure relate to what you are feeling about living every moment of life and cherishing it. We try to do the same thing. I, too, hurt for our precious DS sisters who are standing by their precious husbands during these last days. I pray that I will be half as strong when our time comes.
Thanks so much for being my friend.
Love You,
Ingrid

Wanda, what a terrific weekend! Congrats to Steve, I\'m sure he was elated. And to top the weekend off with the dances on stage - great memories! Living each day, knowing God\'s blessings, during good times and tough times - that\'s what so many people on DS have set an example to do - thankful for everyone. Keep smiling, Wanda. Love, Karen

Wanda - LIVE - yes live it up as long as he is feeling up to it and doing so well, do not waste a moment of that good time. No one knows when it will change and it could happen in a heartbeat. We must all take a lesson from this awful disease and live life to the fullest while we can. Amen.
