A Happy Memory
While posting another journal, Bob did remind me of something very important. Focusing on a happy memory. When we are brought up in dysfunction and chaos we have so many bad memories (some we remember, some we try very hard to forget)
Can you share a happy memory?
I would have one after my week and some Aftercare. I had mentioned not feeling connected with Dad and brother. They suggested an activity to do together. I asked them to help me do the Christmas cookie baking. Turns out Dad was the chief roller and cutter of Aunt Jeanne's iced sour cream cutouts. (Granted sometimes he was a bit too picky... I now know where I get that from. haha) My brother was also a great help as setting up pb, snickerdoodles and tons of chocolate chip. It was really nice working together , them sampling and me getting done in a fraction of the time. They proudly shared bragging rights and we did that several more years to follow.
Now I have had just a time or so to do the same cutouts with the kids. Addy loves to roll and cut, Jaxon loves to sprinkle as we ice them. I haven't broken them in to all the cookies yet. It's hard with schedules sometimes

Going deep sea fishing with my dad down in florida was alot of fun. We caught lots of grouper which were delicious.
my happy time memory that popped into my head was when I was in Europe with parents and my grandmother and her brother who lived there.....one of our visits was a Glacier that is at that time the largest glacier in Europe called Gross Gluckner.....
my parents gave me the freedom to take the elevator down the cliff to the glacier and go walking on it....it was a long long pathway up towards the mountain at the right from where I was.....I started walking.....that was in my new waffle stomper boots that they had bought for me to take back home.....anyway I smoked those days (parents were in dark in my mind about that) so I could smoke while I was alone on the glacier surface....I decided that I was not going the direction of a several hour walk but I would go across the glacier.....and off I went crossing to other side which was far less distance than going up to the mountain....
so I encountered the big gaping fissures of Ice formations in the glacier much faster and had to make my way around or over them.....I jumped a couple but that was a very happy going across....I got to the other side then headed back to the elevator without falling to my sure death into a fissure of that big assed ice thing called a glacier.....
Bob and Bill, those both sound like very happy times.
