A Great Gift
Something really wonderful happened today. Lately, I've been thinking a lot about my former best friend. I've really missed her friendship. We started to get out of touch about 8-10 years ago & then she just kind of dropped out of my life. No returning calls, no return Christmas cards, nothing. I backed off as far as calling, but I always sent a Christmas card, because I do care & always wanted to keep the door open.
Well today, I got a LETTER from her! She said she was sorry she hadn't been in touch. She gave me an update on her life, her son, her husband. But best of all: she sent me her email address! I'm not sure if she's on Facebook, but I plan on asking her.
I'm so psyched! Realistically, I don't know if we could ever go back to how it used to be (partly because of the physical distance & the fact that her son is still kind of young). I suppose that in a way, it would be a whole new friendship. But that's OK. It beats wondering about how she's doing. Now I can just ask!
