A Gift I Want To Share

So this morning my brother posted this for me, because he said he knows this is how I feel about Cara...  I do like the poster... most of all... I appreciate that Johnny said Cara's name... Maybe he's learning... Its not that long ago he mentioned that a lot of times he hesitates to say her name for fear of making me sad... I hear what he said... but oh that is so wrong... Anyway I just wanted to share this picture/poster and my thoughts with you all.

many days I wish... this morning a line from a song keeps running through my head...  "sometimes I think about you"  and I am ironically amused... there are very few times that I do not think about Cara... I regret for all of us including her that she died.  September 9th she would have been 37...  I wish so much she could be here to celebrate it... most of all I wish she were here for her kids...  I'd hate it if for whatever reason she didn't want to see me... but if only she were here for them... those are the sad thoughts... thankfully I have lots of good memories and thoughts... but like the song says... sometimes I think... and my thoughts cover everything... It just is that way... Most of all Johnny, thank you for saying Cara's name... I get so tired of people refusing to say our children's names...  Don't they think we're dealing with enough living with the cold hard fact that our child died... do they have to compound it by trying to make us act like they never lived...

Cara Cara Cara; Lisa Lisa Lisa! I hear you. I guess I was a bit the same before Lisa died. In some weird way, I thought it would bring more pain. Boy was I wrong!!! Now I long to hear Lisa\'s name spoken. That poster is sooo true.
Thanks for sharing Cara\'s Mom!
Love and hugs, Marlene

Love the poster. Thanks, for sharing!! I understand how you feel. It seems that nobody wants to mention Dean, as if it makes them uncomfortable. It makes me uncomfortable not to mention him. He lived, he loved, he was here, he was not a dream....Damn it, his name is Dean and I love him!!! Oh yes, I understand....

My heart resonates with this. I rarely hear anyone mention my daughter to me now. It\'s been a mere 7 months. Now they do talk about my grief, very briefly. But I rarely ever hear them talk to me about her. The community needs educated on grief. All forms. I just don\'t have the energy to do this.

CARA, CARA, CARA, LISA, LISA, LISA, DEAN, DEAN, DEAN, ANGELA, ANGELA, ANGELA, DOUGLAS, DOUGLAS, DOUGLAS.... They matter as does hearing their names and I so appreciate reading this today, Elissa. Thank YOU! :)

This is where I hear my son\'s name the most~ Among my sisters of the heart.

Loving care to each of us as we continue to say their names and remember them well because they live on because we do.

In gratitude,
XO Joanie

CARA CARA CARA CARA! I will say her name at the Grotto in Lourdes.

People don\'t know what to do with us, how to act. Most of the time, it\'s simply that, and not that they don\'t care, just that they don\'t know how to care.

Two mornings ago, as I was just waking but in between sleep and waking, in my \"dream\" or whatever it was I said \"Oh God, please don\'t take my daughter away from me.\" One second later, my eyes opened. And of course I knew: she\'s been taken, rather, allowed to go.

All day I think of my April. And rare are the nights I can sleep without disturbing dreams, sometimes waking while sobbing. I understand, SOTH. We all do, here.

Thank you for sharing this! In the beginning, no one wanted to say Michael\'s name for fear of hurting me and yet, his name was all I wanted to hear! I am with my co-workers more than anyone else and I am so glad that they are now able to say his name freely. When I say something like \"that was before Michael died\" they are comfortable. On August 16th (Michael\'s b/d), I went to work and as soon as I walked in, I started to cry. My co-worker hugged me tightly and said that he knew what the day was about. Then told me to \"chin up\" and lets work and that we were all together. I love them. It is good when people can say their names with a smile on their face. Does a heart good, doesn\'t it?
Peace.

What a beautiful poster! Yes, I did the same thing in the past, but today I know the truth. I also avoided people who grieved, because I was afraid that I would cause them more pain. I was so wrong!

I keep talking about Colleen and saying her name, even if nobody else does. To me she still IS, she only went to heaven, but she still is my child! I don\'t want to bring Colleen back home, because she suffered too much on earth. I just want to visit her, hug her tightly and kiss her, and tell her over and over again how much I still love her! Colleen is perfect now, no more suffering ever again! Our precious angels are perfect now, and they will live in our hearts and minds for as long as we live!! If only we could hold them and talk to them just one more time.....

I can understand the angst! but NOW I feel that if there were stairs open to Heaven...I\'d prefer they grab ME...to go THERE! Not coming down here, to this battlefield and valley of tears! The more difficult my life is, the more I understand how they\'ve been freed from all pain.

In God\'s timing, one day that stairway will be manifest to me, and oh what a glorious reunion! For now, I wait with anticipation! Love, Donna
