A Friend Is Banned?
I have a friend who texted me and was upset because suddenly he is banned and does not know why. Has anyone else any clue or know of another this has happened to?
His name is Duzzy011. He lives in Africa and several years ago their country was cut off from DS for awhile. Wondering if this is the case again?

Don’t know him but usually people are banned because someone reported them to DS for something offensive or inappropriate. I get that can be subjective but from what I understand, DS usually evaluates the concern to see if it violates the DS Rules of Road and then decides what steps to take.
I have friend in India who cannot log in here now too it tells them they are in unsupported region or something to that effect.
Ask him to go to log in but make request while on that page rather than trying to log in asking DS what of course is reason they cannot log on now because of what?
Maybe I’m over simplifying but couldn’t he try to create a new account/ user name and if he’s successful, then he’ll know the issue is unrelated to where he lives.
I don’t think DS is required to tell you why you are being banned. This isn’t a paid membership or like getting fired. But usually there is some indication or awareness.
Not sure if this is related but I remember a few years ago, DS had a really bad virus which originated from outside North America. Apparently, the only way they could stop it from ruining DS, was to prevent the est of the world from accessing DS. Over time, DS has allowed other countries access to DS.
If your african friend knows how to use a VPN, he can come here through a server in the USA. It's easy to do if you sign up with one of the more popular ones like Express Vpn or NordVPN. You have to pay a small amount. I think I paid $59 for 2 years of service so it isn't much plus it also gives you access to video and web content which is not allowed in your country, so there is alot you can do with them plus your computer is much safer.
If you want me to, I can asked DS if this is the case, or you can speak to him in another way if you know him well and have his info.
I know it sucks to lose friends, especialy when you don't know why. Hope yo can reconnect.

We still text on Whatsapp. When this happened before, I think he did also get a message about an unsupported region. He did also send an email and is waiting to hear back from them. I will mention trying a new profile. I actually did that sometime back, but thankfully my regular acct, did come back.
