A Friend in Need
Saw a guy drive up to the laundromat where I was washing clothes this morning. I'd seen him before, changing the papers in the coin machine for the local newspaper and thought I knew him. So, I went outside and asked him how I knew him. He told me he'd been one of my bosses at Convergys, the call center where I'd worked. I asked him where he was working since the center had closed. He said he'd gotten a job as a director at an insurance company, but had been laid off in a year. He said he'd started the paper job part time for extra money and now, it's his only income! This guy can't find a job! This is a guy who was the manger of a call center that, at one time, had 400 people on two floors, working there! There were people coming in and getting off 4 times during the day. There were team leaders, floor helpers, technicians, and trouble shooters and they were all under his control! This guy, in his late 30's or early 40s with great management skills, can't find a job. I know how this guy handles people, having a few meetings with him and I know how he manages. He would be a great addition to any company. I feel very sad for him. He's too good not to have a job.

..............know exactly how he feels................I\'m there too! ....guess life really does come at ya fast some days......and not \'just me \'.Truly feel horrible for this man.................it\'s an awful feeling :(................................
I agree so much Mike. Desperate times for so many people - I think it all stems from the mortgage crisis where home loans were given to people that in fact did ot qualify for a loan and could not possibly repay it but because the person granting the loan was given incentive pay for doing so a lot of these poor quality loans were approved and then they were all packaged up into securities and exchanged on the open market as though they had value when in fact they were worthless and headed for foreclosure from the people given the loan to those unable to pay it back. And then it cascaded out from there and here we are today with the fall out. And I don\'t see anyone going to jail over the criminal activity that caused it all but this poor fellow is now out of a job from criminals giving loans to those that could not possibly ever pay them back on home which then went into foreclosure and it goes on even today.
Just very much beyond sad and senseless.
