A Flood In My Apartment!
Thursday, October 7, 2010 - 4:15 P.M.
This will be a short entry since I am at my sister's house and using her laptop.
Late yesterday afternoon, four repairmen came to check the leak in the sprinkler syfstem at my apartment. They clicked open a valve, which usually holds about a cup of water, and surprise, surprise, out gushed 20 gallons of water into my bedroom! Chemicals were then put on the carpet. Because of the odor that created, I was forced to sleep in my wheelchair, in the livingroom, overnight.
My home healthcare agency notified my niece of the situation this morning, and she made arrangements for me to stay with my sister for a few days. She even paid $41 for a taxi to bring me here. The agency is going to have my caregivers come here at morning and night until I can safely return home.
I am supposed see my doctor Monday. My foot, knee, and back are all still causing me lots of pain. Guess I have to put up with it a while longer.
