A day on the water!

Yesterday I went sailing with my brothers.  It was great!  You know I've been following every rule: no drinking, eating carefully, taking my meds on time etc.  But the "sunshine rule" just doesn't work for me.  So I risk a bit of riba rash and spend the day on Lake Simcoe in huge winds.  We had that bad boy healed over like you wouldn't believe.  I was so exhausted after the day - but it was wonderful! My wife & I are moving to a different town next week. It's only a half hour away, but I think it's going to be pretty stressful. We've been here 14 years. So that means lots of junk! I really don't like losing so much muscle mass because of the meds.  I was down in Florida with my son in the spring.  We had a "push up contest".  I did 700 pushups in 5 days (he still beat me) today I can do 3 pushups.  OK, I lied. 2.  It kinda sucks but you have to keep it in perspective.

I hear you. I was prideful of my physical condition & commitment to routine. Now walking to the car wipes me out, never mind surfin\' wipe out.

Awesome that you had a nice day like that. I think we have to break the rules once in a while. My lesson in all of this is that I really have been abusing my body and taking my health for granted and I\'ve learned to have a great deal more respect for it.

You are way to hard on yourself love.
Now what regiment did you follow when you went sailing?
The rules are, do not go in the sun, first rule broken.
Then if you really have to go in the direct sun, wear long sleaves cotton shirt and pants.
Also a hat, you should also wear some sunscreen, highest level of protection.
Now where did you go wrong.?
Did you drink lots of water?
I tell you one experience that had happened to me while on tx.
I went to see my parents in the small town I grew up in, and saw my childhood best friend taking a walk.
That day it was really hot and humid, of course also sunny, so I got out of my car to talk with her.
The discussion lasted approximately 30 minutes, when I got hom I was red as a tomato, and was sick from sun stoke for 24 hours.
So that was it for me, didn\'t spend anymore time in the direct sun after that day, during tx anyways.
Glad you had a good time though.
During the move, I suggest you get some of your friends to help, cause you will need to nap here and there in order to recharge my friend.
Keep us posted on your move.
Love & Respect,
Mckenzie

Yeah, you\'re right Mack... but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. I did drink my water, kept long sleeves and started with a hat which is now floating somewhere in the lake! Take care...
