A cold day in Pennsylvania

It is Saturday morning, have not taken a shower, feet are cold, no socks on, but I am content, cold feet and all. Going out with my husband today and get some Christmas gifts for the family.  Would rather stay here at the computer and draw, but it will be fun buying gifts for those I love.I just read some journals and I find myself smiling, and feeling this warm glow in my heart.  I cannot put into words the wisdom I find here, the unconditional love, the acceptance of all who come here to find peace and just a little understanding, and comfort. What an amazing group of people here at the SA support site.   And then I read their posts, their comments, their struggle to become whole and I cry for them as well, as I have cried many tears for Little Jeanette and her struggle.  I watch and observe those who at one time were in a hellish place in their recovery and see them blossum.  I see them by the mere fact that another human  being cared, heal.  This is some very powerful stuff going on here at DS, very powerful.  I write that and get goose bumps.  To know that another sister, another brother who was abused is being cared for, loved thru the most trying of times, is in my book a miracle and such a blessing.  How many times I wished I could take away the pain I read here, but I also know that I am not that powerful.  I am not that full of myself to think I have the answers, hell sometimes I do not even know the questions!!!!!!!!!!!!  What I do feel coming here is a sense of community.  Even tho I know no one face to face I feel their spirit, and that spirit is a spirit of kindness and compassion, and hope for each other.  Something many of us and I would think all of us never got as children.  We now can heal that wounded child in others just by our mere words to each other.  Amazing, amazing isn't it?  My heart is full.  To know that my friends out there are being treated here at DS with the utmost of respect and dignity shows me that the universe out there is good. That not all people are like the people I grew up with.  That there are tender hearted people who only want the best for their fellow survivors.  If I had all the money in the world, which I do not, I would give everyone on DS a gift.  I do not have that kind of money so instead I will pray to the God I believe in that all who come here find peace, that they heal those wounds  that have long been a part of their psyche, that they trust that others really care about their pain and that by going thru the pain they too will heal.  That there will be a place to express that pain without judgment or fear.  I cannot express enough words for the peace I have found here at DS.  I hold everyone here sacred.

Thanks for your contribution and your loving attention to many here, including me. You are a valuable part of this family, and I love that you have adopted me and so many others, unconditionally. I have noticed that this forum is so unlike many others on DS. Lots of love to you. Really Big Hug.
