A Busy Day
Wednesday, September 24, 2008 -- 6:35 PM This was one of the strangest days I have had in quite some time. I saw my social worker at the mental health clinic this morning, and that was followed by seeing my psychologist this afternoon. The social worker (Dale) said that this was the second best session that we have had in a row. I asked if he got anything out of it, and he said yes, he had gotten a lot. Most of our time was spent discussing the upcoming family conference that I am having on October 13. We discussed a wide variety of things that could happen at that time. He said that no matter what happened, even if my family chooses not to continue helping with my problems, that Dale will continue working with me on a one to one basis for as long as it takes. He made it quite clear that he will not give up on helping me. I went from seeing him to seeing my psychologist (Dr. Martin). This was the first time I had ever seen both of them in the same day. While I was seeing Dr. Martin, she made some phone calls to try and change one of her future appointments, so that she could be at my family conference. She was successful, meaning that she will be able to attend the conference after all. Dr. Martin said that just meeting my family, and listening to the conversations, would enable her to help me more. By the time I was done seeing both Dale and Dr. Martin, I was pretty well worn out. This has been a pressure-packed day for me. Tomorrow I am having some pool therapy, which I hope will help me relax enough to start getting sleep again. I have had just about all I can take for one week.

On the one hand, this is scary...
On the other hand, it\'s great! You\'re finally going to be in the care of someone who will be there for you...
I heard two good things today, I won\'t say where. One is, don\'t call it a nervous breakdown, call it a nervous breakTHROUGH. The pain/bad memories/anger comes out, and then you can stare it down and work on it.
And the other thing I heard was - you have to feel it to heal it.
I hadn\'t planned on hearing these things, I was channel surfing...
Whether it\'s a seemingly trivial little thing that gets to nagging us for years, or something of gravity, if we don\'t put it out in front...
We can\'t stomp on it.

Yay for Dale.
Maybe you could go to PT with Weebs and to therapy sessions with me. Then no silly working around rides and stuff and we could provide comfort after the therapy. I sure could have used an understanding person after some therapy sessions!
Ah, it\'s nice to dream.
hope you can relax and get some rest soon. hugs-Stephanie
Drifting for a while, sure will be restful for you.
There was a lot of work that was accomplished during this day.
What a secure thought to know that your social worker will be there for you for as long as it takes.
For me, consistency with supportive people feels like a rarity.
Good for you.
I think it is a very good thing that you will be having both professionals present during the October session.
Sure will be inter ESTING..
Good luck to you.
Hey, I am glad that Dale will continue working with you even if you family does not. I am reading this a little late, so I also hope you had a good weekend, and I hope the pool therapy helped you to relax.
