a big step...
....a big step towards what? I don't know. Acceptance?
My weekend was OK; busy grading papers, then went to my in-laws for an early Thanksgiving meal, which was nice.
Yesterday, when I got home from work, I carefully rounded up Juno's bedding from around the apartment (he had 3 little beds, all covered in his beautiful fur!), and put them in a bag with a label on it and put them in our living room closet. I cried a lot as I did it. A lot. Then my husband came home and I told him what I had done and I cried more then, too.
It's so interesting; My kittens, Ziggy and Marley, always used to play or use Juno's beds when he was alive, but after he died, they didn't use them once. Not ONCE did they even go near them. It was like they knew he had passed on. I think animals really know or sense these things; I took it as a sweet sign of respect for him.
I've been thinking within the last week or 2 that I ought to put Juno's beds away somewhere safe because they made me so sad looking at them everywhere...it was a constant, sad reminder of him. :( I knew I wanted to keep his little beds, I never want to get rid of them, but I didn't think it was healthy for me to see them anymore on a daily basis.......
He's been gone since September 5th and yesterday was the first day I brought myself to put them away.
I miss him so much. My heart is so sad. I really, really hope he's in a good place. I pray for that every night.

That must have been so hard. I left all of Lady\'s beds and pillows out up north. Here in the condo, I washed the 2 small beds I had and gave them to my neighbor who just got a puppy. For some reason, they didn\'t hold any sentimental value as they were fairly new purchases and Lady mostly layed on a pillow next to me on the couch.
Every step is hard, but will hopefully bring you closer to healing.
Hold onto the memories you shared.
Hugs xoxo
Thanks so much. :) Yes, it was really hard. :( REALLY TOUGH. But I\'m trying to take one day at a time. Yesterday, last night while I was just lying on the couch where Juno used to hang out with me, I was just thinking how sad it was that he only lives in my memories now. The thought really depressed me. In a way, I almost wish I had school this whole week because while it can stress me out, it does help me take my mind off things.
I am so proud of you Kristin! That really was a big step. A step towards healing. It is sweet how the other kittens showed respect for Juno. I truly believe that they know and understand. Find peace in knowing that Juno is definitely in a great place now, running and playing at the Rainbow Bridge. That gives me peace. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
Thank you, sanbrax! Yes, it was hard, but I agree...a step toward healing. I try to think of Juno at the Rainbow Bridge. I think of him all the time.
Happy Thanksgiving to you, too!
that must have been hard,i gave clays bed to my sister the day he died,i couldnt look at it,it was breaking my heart.its still in hers for her dog so i still see it sometimes.i think you have made a step in the right direction and i hope it helps with your healing now.just take it one step at a time and 1 day at a time and if you need to cry then do,its easier to let it out than hold it in.hope you day is going ok and you enjoy your thanksgiving, hugs xx
