A Better Morning
Every night I make a plan to get out and walk with the dogs the next morning. However, when morning comes, I lay in bed, watch depressing news then go outside and smoke UGG!
This morning I got a late start, it was raining and I just wanted to stay in bed. I hurried up, got my running shoes on and off we went. How delicous it felt to run with the dogs in the rain. Ipod blasting, singing out loud, and not caring what anybody thought.
Its so easy for me to talk myself out of it. Especially when I get a late start. I'm an all or nothing person - if I can't go for an hour what's the point? Well I only had time for 30 minutes but still got a couple of miles in. And the dogs are in heaven!
I was a jogger for about ten years. My knees and hips started getting achey, but the reality is, I just got lazy and started smoking again. All the discussions we've had about meds and alchohol, the best high I've ever had is a runner's high. This is an addiction I will be adding to my life. Yep, I'll be sore but I can handle the physical pain over the emotionall pain any day.

Good for you - I don\'t think I could run even 2 minutes!!! But I can walk. I should do more of that for sure.
Good job! I am walking everyday, and trying to find the motivation to go back to Zumba, which I love.
I\'m not getting eough exercise either. I\'m an all or nothing person too. I think I have time now to start doing more physical labor and start walking more around the farm.
You managed to run for 30 minutes and that\'s the start you needed to get you motivated. Now you can run every morning and your dogs will be so happy.
You go! This is great and really that is how I made through the years prior to the divorce, I worked out. I need that high from exercise. I joined a club, a well established one, not a singles gym, but it also had many social events. I struggle with my weight, and started off in the pool and then started spinning! I HAVE to go back! Like you, all or nothing... and I was there 6 days a week, I had to do it. YOU inspired me, and keep it up, it really does change those chemicals in your brain! HUGS
I did it before the divorce, during it and after.. I fell down when I went back to work and was on my feet long days... too tired. No excuses now!
I force myself to the gym everytime. I know if I don\'t go I will feel lousy all the time. When I leave I feel great and wonder why I have such a hard time getting motivated. I joined a hiking group and they have fitness hikes. They are on more even terrain but go fast. We cover just under 5 miles in one hour. At the gym if I\'m on the treadmill I only cover 3 miles. The group pushes me to push myself.
Keep it up.
You go, girl! I love running with my dog too. Nothing like it for keeping the blues at bay for a while, and I too blast music from my iPod while I run . I often on,y get in a couple if. I,d\'s, but it\'s better than nothing.
It\'s nearly 7:00 pm here in California, and I\'m waiting another 30 minutes before I go out, so that I can catch the low tide and run on the beach
Keep on trucking, Kelly. I I\'ll think of you while I\'m running
