so i called the HIP (healthy indiana plan) people back today. for those who don't live here, HIP is a state insurance plan reserved for low-income individuals without access to health insurance.
the lady told me to call my caseworker's supervisor and file a formal complaint. she also told me that because i am permannantly disabled and am being denied medicaid that i wouldn't have to wait the usual six months to apply for HIP. she sent me an application, and told me i should get it by the end of the week.
it will take 45 days to process it, but that's better than never getting a straight answer with medicaid. i'll have to pay for HIP if i qualify, but the good news is that the premiums are based on income. and i bet that they will cover more than medicaid does anyway.
i called my junior high choir director yesterday, and i plan on e-mailing her today just in case she didn't get my voicemail. beyond that, it's in god's hands. there's always next semester. although i would like to get my music education degree and graduate some time this decade! been in college knocking out my general education classes since 2006. i'm getting antsy. I WANT MY MUSIC CLASSES ALREADY!-fallon
