I woke up this morning, looking at moms pictures on the dresser, so strange to think who will be the first to call me this morning to wish me a happy bday. She was always first! I wore her ring and earrings and things that reminded me of her. Our strength bracelets that me and my sisters and mom wore from the day she was diagnosed. I wear hers now. All these little things and I kept thinking about her.  My sister and 5 close friends went to spa to relax. My sister was so amazing. Had fruit and cookies and scones and muffins. Champagne for a toast and she burst into tears, of course all followed suit. We had our facials, massages, manicures/pedicures and then went to lunch. It was nice, relaxing and good conversation! Mommy was definately missed, but we managed to share a few laughs. What I wouldn't do to share a hug, whisper a kiss from her.  I know its normal to feel this way on certain milestone days. My dad called me at 7:40am this morning, he was my first call. God I love him, But, he didnt want to come to dinner with us. He wanted to be home. He brought me red roses (our favorite flower). Growing up he had a rose garden right outside the kitchen windows., every year on my bday, he made a great big sign that said "Happy Birthday Lori, what a love".... so it was amazing that he did that.  i'ts a bittersweet day, I have so much to be thankful for. God Bless YOU All..... !
