Rough day.  Took my dog to the vet.  He has started limping a lot.  Turns out he has a torn "meniscus", knee joint problem.  The only treatment for a dog his size is surgery.  And we don't have the 3-5 thousand dollars it would cost.  Right now he is on Vicodyn for pain.  I just don't know what we are going to do.

Oh, Marah. I am so sorry. We got lucky and found a vet to do Nell\'s ACL for just a little over $1000...still a huge amount, but she is so healthy otherwise we just had to bite the bullet and have it done The Orthopedic specialist wanted $3000 plus, but our vet said, \"Who do you think did this kind of surgery before there were dog specialists?\" How old is your dog?

I am so sorry hon, that is sucky...I do know that there is joint stuff and pain spray for the dogs water that is natural..I think the glucosamine for peoples they make for dogs..it may help...and I have seen spray for animals, online or somewhere that you put in their water and it is for pain relief....I know I repeated myself...I hope it helps.

Thanks Jess. We do already give him a glucosamine suppliment. And he is on Vicodyn right now for the pain. Problem is he has an injury that is not going to heal on it\'s own. The best we can hope for there is there is a 10% chance the other tendons will strengthen enough that he won\'t be in pain anymore. What we need I guess is a miracle.
