I was feeling better today when I got up. But then I went off to job fair world. There were actually 2 today. The first was at COSI. I attended a seminar on writing a better cover letter. That was pretty informative. Then I went into the actual fair. idk. I suppose I could have approached a couple. Penny's was there, but I already applied online for them. They apparently didnt' want me. And all they will tell you at their booth is to apply online. I really hate those online applications. And I suppose I could have given Chase my resume, but I think I already applied online there as well. Other than Fork Lift Operator and Insurance Salesman, there really wasn't anything else. So anyway, I drove to the other job fair, but once again, all the downtown parking lots had signs out front that said "Special Event" with an 8 dollar charge. I wasn't going to be in there longer than an hour and probably nothing would have come of it anyway, so I just wasn't going to do that. One thing I did get at the first job fair, the city of Columbus is doing a "Career Development" class. I guess I will try that. It can't hurt. Could be a waste of time though. And no, I didn't get a balloon, but I did fill out the survey form and for suggestions for how to improve told them they needed balloons and funnel cakes. Maybe at the next one.

I don\'t think any of these events is a waste of time. You might make some contacts that could help you find a position. I still think t he website idea is a good one. BTW there\'s an article in the Dec Woman\'s Day about jobs you can do from home. Might be worth checking out.
I think online stuff is lame, you can\'t show yourself..they bug me...mmm funnel cake..that would make a job fair better! I know you are feeling frustrated honey but none of it\'s a waste..think of it all like networking..plus it shows how much more YOU want it. Your name and resume is out there more then other peoples, it\'s a good thing. I haven\'t looked for a job in years so I don\'t know what it\'s like now, but I did go 6 months before I took a job at a video store (this was after my CIA degree) eventually (another 4 months) the right thing came but it took getting my name out, job fairs, monster.com, using my contacts...it will happen....don\'t give up. You are awesome and I\'ll be a reference for that!
