Sarah didn't make the soccer team.  She decided she will play on the rec league.  She and I were supposed to participate in a fundraiser for the team in September that they were having trouble getting people to sign up for.  I told her we could still do it if she wanted to, and she said, no, that it isn't her team anymore and the members of the team needed to step up to the plate.  So I contacted the woman in charge and "unvolunteered".  They still don't have enough people.  But surely out of 50 girls and their parents they will get enough to make it work.   I did strength and core work at the gym followed by a bike ride.  Still looking for a job and or an agent.  Sigh.

Sounds like you and Sarah made it through the disappointment in good shape. I\'m sure the rec league will be more fun...less emphasis and pressure on winning which can sap the fun away in a hurry. I certainly wouldn\'t have worked at the fundraiser. Sarah\'s right: the team needs to step up to the plate.
