Been an interesting couple of days here. My son is now in Norfolk awaiting transport to the Eisenhower. I am very excited about this, but also a bit scared. Yesterday, I ran 7 miles, did 7 Yassos. Today I ran 5 miles in the neighborhood. Just over a month to the marathon. I am getting excited, but nervous about that. I trying to focus on these things and not on what our beloved government is doing to our country. My husband is really worried if this "cap and trade" thing passes, his company (local power company) will be laying people off. I really don't know what we will do if that happens. And I am feeling really depressed about the NF. I am afraid that if the government takes over health care, we will get lost in the shuffle. Bad enough to fight insurance companies for treatment, I don't even want to think about fighting the government. Makes me tired to think about it. But I'm leaving my smiley face at good. Hoping things get better.

Don\'t mask your feelings behind a smiley face, kiddo. Hang in there. Having a son go off to serve his country is something full of mixed feelings. I am sure you are proud of him and worried too. As to the current state of our government, all people with all kinds of chronic illness need to be concerned. Things are so bad as it is, I cannot imagine how bad it can get. I see it everyday at work. The latest, a little child\'s welfare was being debated between state agencies and they eventually came to a decision after 2 months! It is soooo wrong. I share your concern for NF but everyone needs to be very concerned: those with cancer, with developmental issues, etc etc etc.
I will pray for your son.
Some of the things that are happening, make you worry,if social medical care comes here it will be hard to get any kind of care,you\'lll have to get in line and wait your turn. All we can do is pray that it does not come to this in this country,
I am glad that things worked out for your son even though it seems like a mixed blessing. Does he know where he will be going?
