Cold again, but the sun is out at least.  Went to the gym for strength and core and stationary bike (25 min).  Didn't really feel like it, but went anyway.  I am so close to the marathon, I don't want to mess up by skipping a planned workout now.  Didn't sleep well, so I am really tired.  Hubby was really getting with the snoring and I couldn't get him to roll over.  I finally took my pillow and went to sleep on the couch.  I woke up around 2AM and went back upstairs, he had rolled over.  Does anyone know why people snore so loud when they are on their back?  I don't get it.  Have bunches to do as well.

Speaking as a snorer myself, it has more to do with how things are positioned in your throat. Being on your back tends to bring out the most of it, noise-wise.

I\'m surprised you don\'t do what my wife does. She kicks me when I snore! :) I could do the same when she does, but I end up laughing at the notion of my lovely lady sawing logs with the best of them. She never believes me when I tell her she does, but that\'s alright. The amusement is worth it.

Just keep this in mind. You do need to take it easy so your body can properly rest up beforehand. I know you\'d rather not, but it is sound advice, and I\'ve learned to take it as such, especially after seeing what happens when I ignore it.

My wife said that some of her most scariest times was when we would be in bed and I would start snoring real loud, then stop breathing. She would wake me several times during the night. Finally she insisted that I see a doctor, and that was when I was diagnosed with sleep apnea. I now sleep with a bi-pap machine and it works well, but after several years of my wife putting up with sleeping with me in the same bed, we finally agreed that I would sleep in another room. We are still very much inlove, but I would not go back to sharing a bed with her for anything. It is not her fault. I know I would be hard to sleep with. I move and kick all night. She can fall asleep at night and not move a inch all night long.

Every time you say you went to the gym even though you didn\'t feel like it I feel sooooo guilty! When I don\'t feel like it I take the lazy person\'s way out and don\'t go! My hubby used to snore a lot but has gotten better. Of course it helps to be deaf in one ear. I put the deaf side up and sleep away peacefully.

I know I know! Marah, most people (well, me at least) have more incidents of sleep apnea on my back than on my side. There is an anatomical reason for this, too. On your back, gravity pulls that flap in there that covers your trachea. So, side sleeping or try a bigger pillow to encourage neck flexion to diminish the snoring. What hubby really needs is a sleep study to see if he has sleep apnea. Snoring is a symptom.
