Things went much better today.  I do like the new personal trainer.  She did the assessment and while she did not deem me fit for the Miss Universe Pagent, it didn't come out bad.  My fat% was 26, she said it should be between 20-25, but that most people who come in are much higher than that.  And if i lost a couple of pounds it would be well in the "good" range.   And she said I had some tight muscles, and need to do a better job of stretching, but that was about all she could find to be critical of.  So that felt pretty good.  That took about an hour.  Then I ran for just over an hour and made 5 miles.  And that felt pretty good.  Monday starts the "official marathon training schedule".  I need to run 7 miles in 60-90 minutes.  I hope I can do it.  But I feel really good that the assessment is over.

That\'s great! I\'m glad you got a realistic person and it sounds to me like you\'re way way ahead of the curve compared to most people. good luck with the marathon training.

Sorry you were so worried about the assessment. I guess I have a different perspective. I think how you feel is more important than some weak-minded trainer. I\'ve heard the PTs complain about some of the wacko advice trainers have given their patients. Please be careful. Trust yourself over the trainer. Go with your guts!
