Well here we are, just another new years eve.... (apologies to Barry).  I ran yesterday, so I wouldn't feel a need to run today.  Made 8.2 miles.  Woo Hoo!  It felt okay at the time, actually kinda good.  But my left knee hurt the rest of the day.  It feels better now, but I bought a knee brace for the next time I run.  Funny thing is usually my right hip hurts when I run.  And it didn't. I wonder if I did something in my running for fear of that.  Maybe I twisted it.  It never swelled up.  Oh well.I have an appointment with the personal trainer at the gym today for an evaluation.  It is free (a 50 dollar value!) with jointing the gym, so I don't really expect much.  But we will see.  We still have candy and cookies around the house.  I was really hoping that would be gone by now so I could start back on my food program on Jan 1.  I haven't really been doing my food/exercise journal since just before Christmas.  I did gain 2 pounds in the beginning of December, but it has stablized, or so it seems.  So I think that is pretty good.  I slept about 12 hours last night, so hopefully I am ready for tonight.  Our family tradition is that we rent movies to watch starting at 5.  We watch movies, eat the rest of the beef log and cheese and crackers from Christmas Eve. dinner along with some popcorn.  We watch one movie 5-7, one 7-9 and one 9-11.  Then we watch  the ball drop, 11-12.  Hubby and I have a glass of champaigne, the kids share a bottle of sparkling grape juice.  Then we all go to bed.  lol.  Really exciting I know.  But it is tradition.   Addition:  Okay, have to add here.  Went to the gym and was not impressed.  They had double booked so the personal trainer couldn't see me today.  She did put me on the treadmill.  I can only describe it as an strange cross between boredom and terror.  I was constantly afraid of falling off the dumb thing and at the same time bored out of my skull.  Of course when I got home and told my daughter, she said, "Well, why didn't you use the safety clip?"  Well, because no one showed that feature to me.  So, so far, they get a 2 out 10.  But I have a rescheduled appt on Thurs.  So I guess I will give them another chance.  And the weather is supposed to be really bad on Wed. and I am supposed to run on Wed.  so maybe I will take my daughter with me, (I have some free passes) and let her show me how that safety feature works.

Sounds like a great way to spend the evening to me. I\'m not sure I could stay awake for three movies though. I\'m doing my best to make sure all the bad stuff is out of the house, but I\'m very creative and can make fattening stuff out of virtually nothing. Now THERE\'S a talent everybody needs, huh?

You are a hoot. I understand about the clip. When Ed and I inherited my mom\'s treadmill I felt nervous on it and still (when I use it, it\'s actually dusty right now) hold the rails when I walk...I am not a runner, I try to walk at a nice moderate pace...a fast turtle if you will. I think your New Year\'s Eve plans sound FUN!!!! Enjoy the evening, we never know when the holiday we\'re celebrating with beloved ones will be the last...enjoy!!
