Feeling physically better today.  Got in 5 and a half miles this morning.  My MP3 needed a battery, so I was thinking.  Dangerous for a pea brain like me I know.  You know that survey question.  What's the first thing you notice when you meet someone?  Maybe you've filled that out and said, hair, smile, teeth, body shape, etc.  I bet no matter what you said, the first thing you would notice about me would be the bumps.  Even if you are a really nice person and you didn't want to, that would be it.  I remember the first other person I met with NF.  She had a couple of small tumors on her face, not near what I have.  But she noticed right away and got very excited and said so.  I kind of blew her off.  The only way I can get out of my house is to not to think about them, and here someone had to point them out in a very public way.  I felt humiliated.  I don't know why, I mean she had it too.  It's like we are part of this exclusive club that no one wants to be a member of. Perhaps we need a secret hand shake. lol.  Looking back, I really wish I had made friends with her.  I think besides the very real health issues, the worst part about having NF is that it becomes your identity.  When people try to remember who I am (Oh you know her), I am probably not the one with red hair, or green eyes.  I am the one with all the bumps.
