Made it back in one peice. The visit with my dad was very formal, but not terribly unpleasant. I think if it is the last time I get to see him this year, I can live with that. I still wish things were better between us, but I guess I will take what I can get. The visit with my sisters-in-law went well. I ate too much and exercised too little, probably picked up a couple of pounds, but oh well. I have all fall and winter to behave and get back on track. I refuse to begrudge myself enjoying this weekend. I am really glad I went. My oldest really seemed to enjoy himself, a rarity. I do worry that he is so serious most of the time. I think the best part of the weekend was seeing him kick back and enjoy himself. But I am glad to be back home. I did write a kind of silly poem while I was there. Don't know why it came to mind.As if He ran to her as if to say“I love you”She looked away.He touched her hair as if to say“I want you”She turned her headAwayHe took her hand as if to say“I need you”She walked away And turned to say“as if”

I like the poem a lot....so much left unsaid in our lives and the poem certainly speaks to that. Glad you had a good weekend. There\'s nothing more satisfying than seeing our children happy. Food and exercise? There are 362 other days to worry about that!
That is not silly, that is profound!!!! How many times do we try to say what is on our hearts but words fail us??? How many times have we tried to love another but the other person turns away from us...Wow, this has got me thinking.....glad you\'re accepting the relationship with your dad. The longing in us for intimacy with our parents never goes away....It took my mom 4 days before she died to allow me back into the depths of her heart....love, diane
Glad you had fun!! you should feel guilty about anything you ate. You workout hard enough for the both of us. I just wish both of us saw the results... oh well I guess I\'ll work out for me. Anyways cute poem. HUGS-LEXX
