Made it 4 miles this evening, total of 8 for theday. Not great, but as hot as it is today, not bad either. I called my dad today to see how he was doing. It is like 110 with the heat index in Louisville today, and he has heart problems. We actually had a really nice conversation. I know that may not sound like much to most people, but for my dad and me, it was wonderful. I always have to stir up my courage to call him, because our conversations usually involve what I am doing wrong and all the wonderful things my brother and step siblings are doing. It really bites to be the black sheep of the family. I told him some things my kids were doing, and he really sounded interested. So all in all, ending the day on a pretty good note. Hope everyone else is doing well.

I\'m glad to hear you had a good conversation with your dad--being the black sheep is really difficult; my immediate family (mom, dad, sister, and me) is the black sheep family...flock?...on both sides.
And 110 degrees?!? Wow...
Good to hear you had a good convo with your dad. That always feels good to be able to connect on that level and have him respond to your effort. And 8 miles ...great job...especially in all that heat.
