Couldn't sleep last night. It was so hot. Our AC just isn't big enough for the house, that is what the repair guy said last year when we called them because it is usually about 80 upstairs even at night. He charged us 90 buck to tell us that! When the alarm went off at 5:30, then I was sleepy. So now it's later and really hot and muggy. No sun, just mug. My oldest normally goes for a long walk around 5AM, he didn't go this morning. He said he tried, but just couldn't. My husband works in the power industry, and he said this first full week in August is always the hottest of the year and that it should get better after this week. Small comfort right now. My head feels about to explode. I am going to try to walk this morning. At least I didn't gain any pounds from being 3 miles short yesterday. I just feel like if I don't do this every day, I will like overnight regain the 35 pounds. I know that is just silly, but that is what is driving me this morning. If I were a normal person, I would just take today off. Is it possible to trade one addiction (food) for another (exercise)? Do I just have an addictive personality? Is there such a thing? My head hurts too much to work that one out, so any advice is welcome.

Yes. It is possible to do that. There is a book called Positive Addictions. I do believe there is such a thing as an addictive personality, too. Do you weight yourself every day? If I did that I would have jumped off a bridge long ago. It\'s hot and humid here too. My husband just said showering made him sweat! That humid. Oh well. This too shall pass. Hang in there. We don\'t have AC so fans are our only respite, and they always tend to plug up my head. Hope your husband is right about next week. Isn\'t it weird how long a short heat wave feels?
Good morning Marah. This is the muggiest week we\'ve had all summer. With temps in the 90\'s with equal humidity, for me, it is unbearable to be outside. I do see people on their morning walk, but Richard Simmons and I will have a date after my DS entries. He\'s a little fruity but quite the motivator. I think most humans are imbalanced souls which lends to addicitve habits. It is possible to trade one addiction for another...I once told a friend that if I ever wrote a book I\'d title it...\"In Search of Balance\". This is still how I want to live my life...Zoloft helps me a lot, but, who wants to take drugs all their lives to do what should come with discipline? I am proud of you for losing 35 pounds. Through your example, I am trying to exercise each day, every day, to keep up the losing of inches. Hopefully by the end of August there will be an additional 4\" come off my cellulite thighs, grandma arms, rolly polly tummy. I\'m doing a better job of not eating sugar to excess. Thank you for your example to me...I want to be a size 10 and maintain that size for the rest of my life....love you sis, didiy
