Taking a short breather!  I am almost ready, at least physically.  LOL.  One hour left.  I saw the strangest thing this morning.  My younger son finally decided he wanted to take his driver's test (written part).  He is dyslexic, and I think it took him a long time to gather the courage to try.  He turns 18 next month.  So I took him out to breakfast before we went.  There were two men sitting at a table for two across from us.  One was taking on a cell phone (so what are you doing next Thursday?  Well, I think we should........) and the other was looking bored.  And just as I was thinking how rude the first guy was, the second guy's cell phone rang and then he was yapping on his.  So here were these two guys sitting at a table together and yapping on cell phones to other people.  Is that what we have come to?  Oh well, just an observation.

and a good one at that Marah and I am afraid that is indeed what our world has come to...when Pam & I were at Walmart a woman passed talking very loudly, to I thought, herself until I turned around after passing her still in the midst of her very loud conversation and saw the cord from her cell phone ear piece and I said to Pam, \"Oh, she is talking on her cell phone, well least she isn\'t crazy.\"

I have a cell phone too out of holy necessity having asked Fr. Thomas Dubay if he thought it was against the vow of poverty to have one and he said, \"no, absolutely not, for a woman relgious these days, it is a necessity for her safety.\"

I agree, for safety I carry one, as do all my children. We do the prepaid so they don\'t yap on them all day to friends. But what is worse is when you hear someone say, \"Well, hi how are you\" and you start to answer, \"Just fine, how are....\" and you realize not only do you not know them, but they were not talking to you, but into a cell phone! LOL. Really embarrassing.

The American Society is more focused on computers, cell phones, television, computerized games, microwaves, drive through coffee and food items, rather than enjoying the smile of a friend and her encouraging word face to face, sitting in wonderful silence before our Lord, taking time to laugh and enjoy the comradeship of quality time spent with family members, and taking time to homebake goodies for your beloved ones. The fast paced lifestyle of our country (and I live in a rural plains state) is a reflection of a soul trying to fill the God vaccum inside each one of us. We all know when the vaccum is devoid of worth, and sometimes its just easier to fill ourselves with noise, mechanics, and instant gratification than to take time to relax and sense the sweet spirit of our Lord. There are the rightful times and places for each of the above, but, along with them, so went our manners, the manners of true ladies and gentlemen. didiy

I see that way to often. We just came from Lowe\'s and I don\'t think there was a shopper in there who wasn\'t talking on the cell phone. I suppose it saves a lot of trips to return the items that just weren\'t quite right, and it\'s not as rude as the two breakfast companions.

Preach it Marah, these tools can be helpful but alot of the time they become a poison or disruption. Too much of anything is no good. Thanks for sharing on my post earlier, we are all toched by this worlds violence and I am praying for change -Joy in the Morning! Big hugs!!!!
