Not sure how I feel today.  Kind of having an out of body experience, like I am watching myself from outside.  Got up early and did the walk while it was still cool, which was nice.  Got out to run some errands.  My younger son has an appt with a Navy recruiter today.  I would be very proud for him to serve, but he has a year of highschool left and it just seems a little soon to be talking to them.  He took the ASVAP(?) last year as part of a carreer class at school.  He said the recruiter was impressed with his scores.  I kind of think right now that all branches of the military are impressed with you if you can remain verticle and exchange oxygen for carbon dioxide.  But my big fear is, the recruiter will see me, recognize that I have NF, and that will be the end of it.  For two years this is all he has talked about is joining the Navy.  He probably has NF, but has not had the blood test.  I have heard that if you have it, the military will not take you.  He does have learning disabilities and some speech problems, but no health problems so far.  So anyway, rambling I know.  I just hate to see his hopes dashed and it will be my fault.  Not taking someone with NF just doesn't make sense.  Lots of people have it all their lives and never have any health issues.  It is just one more way to punish us for having that stupid gene.  As if just having it wasn't punishment enough.

I don\'t want him to go but Im proud hes made it this far. We took karate together from 9 years old and on. Are you sure NF is an issue...it might not be anymore, they have even let phycal apptitude slide.
