Well it is official. I will be having surgery next week. Just don't know what day yet. I saw the surgeon this morning and he is going to try to do it laporscopically (sp) first but if the adhesions from my prior surgeries and the adhesions from prior attacks of diverticulitis, none of which I remember, are too thick he would have to do open surgery. At least it will be over with soon, one way or the other. My sister was put into hospice again yesterday since it appears to be a relapse. She is not eating, drinking or going to the bathroom. It doesn't look good. I hate to say this but I would just wish that she will be out of her pain. They are giving her pain meds by syringe because she can't take them orally.I am going to lie down now but I will keep in touch.luv ya laurie

Laurie~I am sure you have so much swirling around in your mind right now between your sister and your own surgery. Try to spend this week getting centered and focused, practice the deep breathing for post op, etc.
I am sorry about your sister. I went through it with my Mom at home, just the same. not eating, meds by syringe..the whole deal and I know how hard it is. I also understand your feelings about her being out of pain. It is completely normal to feel that way, because it\'s almost harder to see someone you love in pain, then be in it yourself.
If you need a friend i am here. Please take gentle care and have hope. I will pray for comfort~for both of you.
gosh Laurie, now your plate is really full. I know you are scared and nervous about this surgery, but lets hope you will get rid of all this nastiness and can start to mend. You have been so sick, and you deserve so much more! I know what you mean about your sister and wishing she was out of her pain. I felt that same way with my sister last year, she laid basically in a coma for one month before she left us, and I wish she would have not had to go thru all of that. God works in his own way honey. Not much I can say about this to you, I am just sorry you are having to go thru all of this hugs sandy please try and get some rest before next week
It is never fun to have to look forward to surgery. I\'m sorry to hear about your sister. I have been there a couple of times and understand the desire to have the suffering end. I wish I could think of something to say that would help ease all the pain. I will keep you in my prayers. Hugs and more hugs, Donna
Good luck with your surgery. I sure hope this will help you out a whole lot. What a lot at once to be going through. I feel so for your sister and hope they are keeping the pain controlled. Be sure and take care of YOU.....Cathy
Laurie, you have so much on your plate, it must be hard to even begin to process it all. My prayers are with you for your upcoming surgery and also for your sister.
Luv, gentle hugs & God bless
Lisa
Laurie, I\'m sorry to be late with my message. I will be thinking of you and praying for a good outcome with your surgery. I know you hate to see your sister in her condition. Your feelings are so understandable. She\'s lucky to have you. I love you girl. Hugs, Deb
I am so sorry to hear about your sister. I pray her pain is over soon. I know how much it hurts to watch a family memeber suffer like that. I will also keep you in my orayers as well that you recover well and that the easier surgery works. Love ya....Julie
Hey Laurie, Sorry that it\'s still pouring, but at least you now have something you can deal with. Surgery. At least you know and won\'t be in limbo any longer.
As to your sister, I pray that peace comes to her soon. It is completely normal (in my \"expert\" opinion) to want for all this suffering to end, so I hope you don\'t feel bad about it. It\'s how everyone begins to feel in these situation.
As always, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Love.
I agree, I remember when my Dad had cancer, he lasted a few months, and at the end, I really wished he would just go on to his maker. I felt horrible about it, but I think it is a normal thought for most people. We had to sign a do not resuscitate order in the end, we all had to vote. Of course, I did not agree with it, but my emotions were running very high. I guess it was the best decision at the time.
