Hi guys.. I am sorry that I haven't posted a journal for a while. It is too important to read what is going on with all of you.I haven't been doing well this past week. I am not sleeping. The pain is unbearable. I go to bed between 8:30 and 10 and then I get out of bed by 1am in so much pain that I barely can get to the living room to stay on the couch.  Then 2 days this week I didn't eat dinner and just about slept around the clock for both days.I just got back from my md and I have a urinary tract infection and he wants me to go for an ultrasound of the kidneys to see if I have stones. He doesn not have the greatest bedside manner but he is a good doc. If he doesnt know the answer he will get it one way or another. He is just the type that wants to know why I was there what is the problem and give me meds  and says he wants to follow up next week.He made no mention of a rheumatologist even though I have symptoms of fibromyalgia. It was the kind of answer that made me think that he didn't think much of the disease.  Don't know what to do,,, just took my meds and am going to bed. luv you all

can you go to the rhuematoligist on your own, or do you need a referral from your doctor? some docs think its a \"fake \" disease, someone who is labled with that because they cant figure out what they have wrong with thiem. Like IBS used to be for what ever they couldnt figure out. Ir you can go on your own I think you need to go Laurie. Wishing you felt better hugs sandy

Have you thought about giving your Dr. info from the CDC? Fibromyalgia is real, so maybe if you give him info he can respect, he might change his mind. I think Sandy gave you some good advice. I feel for you Laurie, you\'ve got a double whammy going on with the UTC. This heat is horrible right now, so take it easy and be very good to my friend. YOU! Much Love, Debbie

Oh, Darlin\', don\'t forget to drink, drink, drink water. Cranberry juice is also a great thing, remember to get the natural cranberry juice...minimal sugar added. Bless your heart. You have to drink as much as you can to flush out the infection....drink, drink, drink. Green tea with honey and lemon if you\'re insulin level is good, water with half a lemon squeezed into it. So sorry. xxxooo

It\'s a pity how much we have to advocate for ourselves, and do the job of our doctors. I think you should just ask for the referral - I\'ve done it a lot (pain specialist, neurologist, ortho, even for specific tests i wanted). Anyway, I hope you\'ll try it.

I\'m so sorry that you\'ve been in so much pain. I worry about you when you don\'t post, and kind of assume that pain is the reason. Thanks for posting today... it was good to hear from you a bit. Hope the UTC passes quicly, they suck. Love.

Hi my dear, I am so sorry to hear about that md of yours. I like my doctor even though he tells me things that are way out of the reason for visits. But I think that the comments above are good. Sorry, I\'m not an expert (wish I was though). What I do when I get the UTI\'s is I take my meds (of course) and drink tons of clear water (goes through the body faster because there is little to break down) and even though it hurts to pee, I do it because I know that that is the only way to get it out. I wish you didn\'t have pain. Ok, well maybe just like a dh that is a pain in the booty, but that\'s it. Nothing to wake you up and keep you up forever. :(
