Yesterday when I got my mail I received a termination notice from my employer. I knew that they couldn't keep me on their books forever but it was a form letter and it was so cold. I gave that place 14 years of my life being a loyal employee. Out of 54 other branches my branch was #4 bankwide. Last year I received an award for referring the most business loans to our lender - $13million in loans that were approved and closed. And all I get is a form letter. No how are you.. how do you feel... we miss you,... etc. Nothing. That doesn't surprise me because all of the friends I had were through work and now that I am no longer there and can't do any favors for them they have dropped off the face of the earth. So for the first time in my life I am friendless. I can't call anyone to spend some time with. My children have their own lives and they come over whenever they can. Sometimes I feel that I dont live.. I just exist and go that way from day to day. I am sorry that I am ranting but I am hurt and lonely.

Employers can be S.O.B.s too. I\'m sorry. But you have me here, you know that I am always watching out for your postings and reply when ever you send me a message. I am not really sure of any words that might make you feel better because I know that on my last job I felt the same way when no one emailed me or called to see how I was doing. But the only thing that made me change my mood was to realize that even though the office was my home, it was full of hypro\'s; liers, and errogant (c/s?) bastards and that I am way better off not having them in my life. Again, sorry you feel that way.
companies can be so damn cold,,, It isnt fair.. I worked for a bank for a short time, and I realized that wasnt it for me. So I quit, but it comes so easy for them to say \"bye bye..\" And they dont care,. because they still have their jobs, their high incomes and they wont be fired, or let go, because they are the ones who do it.
Yes you have someone to talk with, ME, I\'m here and I know you miss your
friends, but you can have many friends here too.
you take care and try not to be upset, some places are just useless, and your 14 years are not in vain.
love renwood
I am so sorry this happened to you. I obviously lost my job when I went into the hospital last year in March because I\'ve been in a wheel chair ever since then. But what my job did that made me upset was cancel my insurance because I was in the hospital for 2 months. And of course they never called to see how I was doing. Some of my co-workers did for a while but then that stopped too. I also don\'t have any friends here at home. But lots of friends here on DS so we are not alone.
aahh, big business has no heart! I have a name for them but I probably shouldn\'t type it at the moment. You have many friends you haven\'t met yet, plus you have all of us. When I had to quit work, all of my concerned friends at work dissapeared. I went to a coworkers wedding one month after I quit and I thought I had something stuck between my front teeth! (not really), some just acted like I didn\'t exist, so I looked right through them all night and don\'t miss them at all. You will find something to keep you busy, even if its reading a good book that you got at the library. Loyalty and hard work do not fit in todays work place. I guess the younguns have it figured out, work a couple years, do as little as possible and move on. I have seen many do that and they are the ones who get the praise. Go figure! You keep you chin up, and don\'t give those people another thought, they didn\'t give you any. get some rest hugs to you I am so sorry they treated you so badly
I\'m sorry Laurie, that sucks. Even a hello, how are you would have been nice. It\'s hard to leave a place of employment, no matter why you\'re leaving. I envy you. Wish I could stay home. At least you can rest if and when you need to. Love ya! Kimmy
