Right now, this moment in time, the commitment to someone is completey without legal encumberances.  At 2:22 EDT court time, my divorce was final.  I must admit, at the moment the judge signed, there was a moment of remorse for what might have been, was, never was, but it passed.  My ex was full of chatter about her new lover she went to see this weekend, and after comparisons in ways you do not want to hear about, I finally had to stop her.       I am only slightly melancholy.  Can you be a bit sad for something you never had?  I suppose that is what I feel right now, a lifetime and not until now, not until I met my NC sweety did I realize just what I did not have.  I just assumed that you chugged along and as long as it was not overtly hostile, that was as good as it got.   And I always thought that marriage was for life, nothing less was my goal.     So here I go, it is the top of the 1st inning, the pitcher is winding up and I am ready to swing again.  I am looking for a home run this time, and I am gonna swing with all my might.  No reason to half ass love.  Love or get the hell outta the way for the real romantics is what I say :)    And it sure feels good right now to be back in the ballpark.  My sweety is right there swinging with me, and together, with the combined power of our love working together, we shall hit a home run that will sail right into the sky!    So, a era ends, and I begin anew.  WE begin anew, you and I, all of us here have a chance to remake ourselves into the person we wished we always had been.  WE get to have a relationship remade in our own image, without the encumberances of failure and hurt feelings holding back all of the good we have yet to come into our lives.  WE get a fresh start, and for me, that is a great gift.  I am going to take full advantage of it.
